To users of the internet (read: everyone) the interactivities that come with the article seem a bit magical. But if you think about it from the perspective of the designer and builder of these exact interactions, you might soon realize that it’s a bigger on-take than it appears.

At what exact point would the image pop in? How does scrolling trigger the background change? What kind of animation makes sense, for what type of image? How do image repeat, and where?

And, maybe most importantly, what is the code that actually makes this happen?
