Action from Non-Action and Generative Dynamics of Rest and Creation

Years ago I began facilitating a workshop titled: “Deep, Deep, Deep.”

In this workshop, I invite people to imagine floating on top of the ocean. Resting and being held by the ocean surface.

At some point I invite people to imagine dropping an anchor into the ocean, and as the anchor, begin to sink down into the depths.

At some point we hit the ocean floor, which has gone by many names since: The Ground of Wellbeing, The Primordial Ground, The Well of Being…

The more I sink into the Ocean Floor, The Ground of Wellbeing, and the more I start to receive the resources, nourishment, passion, vitality, and life force that’s available at this Primordial Ground, the more I can see, feel, and sense the structures, forms, constructs, and action drivers that are tired and underresourced.

They appear taut, overly tense, malnourished, bound up, and depleted.

The more I stay at the ocean floor and in the Ground of Wellbeing, I receive and soak up the nourishment and satiate in what’s available here. The Ground of Wellbeing resources the drivers, concepts, forms and structures.

The experience of these drivers opening up to receive nourishment is like a tree that hasn’t gotten water in a long time receiving sustenance through its roots. All of a sudden, the forms, structures, and ideas start to be sourced from, infused with, and resourced by nutrient dense Goodness.

As this unfolds, when action impulses arise and action happens, it’s in a way that the action and the receiving of the resources start to have a generative dynamic between the two.

It’s not taking action out of depleted resources that then makes you tired and you need to go back to The Ground of Wellbeing and receive more resources. The actions start to work together with what’s resourcing The Ground of Wellbeing and you get more nutrient dense structures and nutrient dense action impulses.

A really generative dynamic between the two takes over.

Action and receptivity serve and nurture each other.

Action is resourcing, not depleting.

Action resources the receptivity.

It’s such a recognizable feeling.

There is a Knowing.

We know when we do actions that are resourcing us. It is a much more natural state.

This becomes a compass. You can feel the effortlessness.

This action is non action. You’re not doing anything when you’re doing.

You’re still doing but you’re not depleting.

There is no equation. You don’t have to spend one to get the other.

Action and receptivity are feeding each other, nurturing each other, and supporting more fulfillment and fruition of both.

When you come to rest, there’s less stuff to recover from, so you rest deeper.

That deeper rest more fully satiates action that’s more congruent, more coherent, and then that means less distortion or recovery that has to be resolved.

So you sink deeper and relaxation becomes a generative process.

Opposite of a vicious cycle.

There becomes a Non-Dual Experience of Doing without a Doer and Being without a Be-er.

Action from Stillness and Stillness in Action.
