This article completely misrepresents the concept of UI (universal income) or Basic Income with a false equivalency to the PFD. There is no mention of the elimination of social welfare programs that is a core element of UI or Basic Income concepts.

The residents of the town of Bethel for example draw over $20 million a year in food stamps alone. That would be eliminated in a UI program. ~6,400 people live in Bethel.
