Too true! Understanding how sales pipes, marketing acquisition funnels, cycle times, lead gen and all that stuff works – and mastering their vocabulary – makes a HUGE difference. Especially on the c-suite level.

You’re still missing most of the required automation with that approach. When things change, you have to manually remap the entire backlog based on the new insight.
I’ve done this with multiple squads and the amount of manual work involved is simply not sustainable. Unless you allocate a whole lot of PM time to managing data between Jira and spreadsheets.

To me, that benefit is easily worth the 10 minutes per day it takes.
But, for the investment to be worth it, the structure of those quick sessions needs to be aggressively guarded. If they turn into meetings… game over.
