Intersectionality, a Necessity?

Hi Autumn! Great blog post!

I agree that in order to create effective change, we need to start analyzing and researching the trends. In past research, we have looked at trends for low income students, trends for girls, and trends for African American students. But with this new age of intersectional feminism, it is important to recognize and look at how the combination of all these different types of identities impact individuals. It cannot just be the sum of these different identities and their additional level of inequality. One identity, plus another does not equal a whole person. Once we start to collect data and research on these multidimensional groups, we can then begin to address the inequalities they face.
