Founder Collective is Looking for an Operations Assistant in Harvard Square
Founder Collective is a seed stage venture capital firm built by entrepreneurs based in NYC and Boston. We are among the most active seed funds in the country and have invested in transformative startups like Uber, Buzzfeed, Periscope, and Cruise. We’re searching for our new Operations Assistant for our Harvard Square office.
Note: We’re not looking for someone who wants to be a career assistant. This role is a great opportunity to spend a few years building a broad skill set that will slingshot you into an operational role at a startup.

The entire investment team at Founder Collective has founded at least one technology company. We think of what we do as Peer-to-Peer investing. We love building stuff and engaging at the beginning of exciting companies. It’s in our DNA. We also have real empathy for founders because we recognize that not all companies succeed, and that starting a company is really really hard. Our mission to be the most aligned fund for founders at the seed stage. We have over $125M under management across two funds. We are looking to bring on a startup-minded, Jack or Jill of all trades; a hungry, passionate new Ops Assistant.

Job Description
The Ops Assistant role is centered around making sure the office runs well and spans many different functions. We’re a small team but the role helps support the logistics and operations of a portfolio of over 200 companies. Some of these tasks include:
- Provide project support to the investment and finance teams
- Track monthly expense reports, manage vendors, and arrange travel
- Provide general administrative support to investment and finance teams including filing, scheduling, and general investor support
- Organize special events — our annual meeting for the LP investors, holiday party, public events, dinners, topical events for portfolio companies, breakfasts and other mixer events
- Office reception and phones
- Manage our CRM System including tracking prospective investments, portfolio companies, contacts, etc.
- Manage inventories of all general office supplies
- Negotiate the purchase of office supplies and equipment, hardware and services as needed
- Help with the fund’s content and community efforts — including social media efforts, podcast, videos and other outreach
- Of course, most of all, the role is to be ready for the unexpected and to pitch in wherever and whenever help is needed.
Culture
A fast-learner who is entrepreneurial and energetic is the ideal candidate
The candidate will need to be flexible (possibly required to work outside of normal office hours to meet the requirements of the role), positive, professional, trustworthy and have the ability to communicate at all levels with minimal supervision.
In return, the candidate will have exposure to many aspects of Founder Collective, its portfolio founders and will be mentored by experienced entrepreneurs and venture capitalists.
