What have I achieved in my first semester at university?
Hi, guys. It’s already November and it means that I’ve been studying at university for two months. Actually, it’s not a very long time but it’s quite enough to get better at something if you are diligent and hard-working. So, I’m going to tell you about my accomplishments which I’m pretty glad about and some failures that have been haunting me for some time.
Firstly, I’ve completed my pronunciation course in English which was really informative and useful. It was quite hard to make my speech organs move in an unfamiliar way all the time but I did my best and I hope I’ve made some improvements. The course also included plenty of reading rules which were confusing and even contradictory sometimes but it was beneficial too. Now, I can read English words which I’ve never encountered quite well. I still have some problems with the ones that don’t follow the rules but I hope I will get more confident with more practice. Besides, I’ve revised a lot of grammar rules and it helped me to improve my English too.
However, there are always some things in everyone’s life which are quite difficult to get along with and I’m not an exception. For me, it’s history. I’ve never been fond of it and now I have to learn plenty of new information every day. To be candid, I don’t enjoy it at all but I suppose it will get easier in the future as it did with the preparations for my history exam that I successfully passed last summer. Another not very good thing is that I’ve started neglecting my body by sleeping less than I need. It has already had some bad influence on my memory and health in general. Of course, some people can cope with a lack of sleep very easily but unfortunately that is not my case at all. And the last thing I’m struggling with is not having enough time. I hope I will be able to organize my daily routine more wisely to get more thing done in the future. So, my next goals are to try harder in history classes, get more sleep, and find a way to spend my time more efficiently.
I hope I made you interested by this article and you had some time reading it. Thanks for your attention and see you soon!
