Hi, my name is Francisco Ramos. I am 20 years old, I am a Mexican American, cisgender male, whom happens to be a bilingual and a Broadcast Journalism major. I came into journalism with one purpose. That purpose? To serve underserved and marginalized communities. Once I graduate — I want to work at either Univision or Telemundo. I think there is lots of opportunity to better their type of journalism at the local levels. I’ve done several internships, but my most recent one has been — with Univision, and I definitely want to work there one day.

Having said that I want to work at Univision — that isn’t really what I watch. When it comes to news, I get my news from NBC News, ABC News, and also Facebook — but I make sure my news comes from reliable sources when I do read news off of Facebook. I also watch Spanish news because I have family that lives in Mexico and well, I like to keep up with my roots. I usually watch Univision at the national level — when it comes to news and podcasts. Jorge Ramos anchors this show on Facebook Watch called “Real America”. It’s really good — you should watch it.

When it comes to entertainment — I mostly watch Netflix Latinx shows. Shows like Ingobernable, One Day at A Time, Rebelde, and Made in Mexico just to mention a few. I’m in a process of discovering and reconnecting with myself.
