I have big problems with both the Left AND the Right. So should everyone.
Few people grasp how this “left” and this “right” are components of the same machinery. Socialism, whether practiced internally in a profit-making company’s “culture” or practiced openly by a fully-leftist national regime, are both simply practicing capitalism by other means. Just as the moralistic planet-saving projectile sanctimony of comfy middle-class yuppies, is imperialism by other means.
And how can anyone not notice, that the whole runaway freight train of gratuitous profit-taking which is Silly-Con Valley, is as capitalistic and monopolistic in its true motives, as it gets?
How can anyone be taken in by the naked hypocrisy of “diversity” and all the silly, juvenile rhetoric about “fairness” attending it, when the only reason anyone in business to make a profit indulges themselves in it, is that they are responding to the trends in pop-culture that determines how profitable their ventures remain? If “diversity” were not simply trendy, and therefore profitable to prattle on about, who really believes that vicious juggernauts like Google or farcebook or Amazon would ever bother with it?
What drives “diversity” is the same motive that drives any other made-up leftist nonsense propaganda: that to be seen promoting it, is less dangerous than being seen NOT promoting it.
Our Comrade Google Engineer, is just another garden-variety “dissident”, exactly like the ones we watched hustling western regimes throughout the Cold War looking for a better deal: he is, you can just tell from his own campus-leftist rhetorical dialectics, just another communist who has fallen, or fears falling, out of favor with The Party, and thinks that by pandering to a slightly more right-leaning sentiment instead, that maybe what? He’ll get offered a position on some right-leaning board of directors, or maybe go on a speaking tour and do a book deal: “How I Defied PC Culture at Google, and the Lessons I Learned”. Ho-hum.
I have no use for just another communist who discovered too late for his own good that the mechanics of denunciation he has been complicit in all along, are more dangerous to his own interests than he had calculated at first.
