Good grief, I don’t know what “sticks” you come from, or what form your “assimilation” takes, but my own life and times have led me to the precise opposite conclusions: that city life and their kowtowing assimilationism cause folks to be dumb as dirt, with “open minds” amounting to yawning abysses to be filled with advertising and propaganda taken at face value.

I would not go back to life in any setting where more than a few thousand people live within a hundred miles of me, for a truckload of cash and a full refrigerator. I don’t know how anyone endures it, the noise, the chaos, the anonymity, the endless structures of power bearing down on one’s life, the absolute likelihood of random stupidity or violence or accusation every time you walk out your front door.

Your overselling it in this way just adds to the momentum of the descent in my estimation of your thinking, which your gleeful adoption of the tactics of Denunciation Culture of late did no favors for, either.
