Hey Erika Sauter, just FYI-ish, I am now pages away from finishing my re-read of Anatoly Rybakov’s volume 2, Fear, having got through the first one, Children of the Arbat, not long ago.

I have finally resumed my near-lifetime habit of reading before sleep every night, which I had thought I let the internet be the end of, and the activity has been inspired by my eagerness after over thirty years’ wait, to read the volume 3, Dust and Ashes, which you so graciously sent me a while back.

I’ll probably wrap up Fear tonight with maybe forty pages to go, and if I’m not too tired crack open the lovely retired hardcover library volume you sent me, complete with its Dewey tag, and think of you.
