People like myself take medication, go to therapy, and take it damn serious.
I don’t mean to be flippant, well, maybe I do….
Let’s just say that, in a former time when I looked at the world differently, I used to keep a different sort of company, way further to the left than I can even tolerate being in the same room with any more. I spent a lot of time around the natural foods/herbal remedy/Diet-For-a-Small-Planet crowd… and let me tell ya, you never met so many hypochondriacs and just people who always had something going on with their health either mentally or physically.
It really was weird, like being sick all the time was an extension of their politics or something. There was always some kind of back-story about something that connected back to politics that was the reason they were sick, and if they weren’t sick, I still got a lot of those “I can’t talk about this right now, you’re really stressing me out” things, which I came far later to recognize as one of many forms of passive-aggression, many of which were also so everyday among that crowd I began to act like that myself….
Thank GOD I put that social-justice campus-left life behind me. Far, far, far behind me. Oddly enough, I haven’t been sick in years. Go figure.
So I am an EXTREME skeptic on some of these murky conditions that tend to be used to explain away just plain bad manners and childish interpersonal conduct. If there is anywhere near the numbers of genuine cases as the faked ones, I’d say the weirdo-leftist-never-okay hypochondriacs of the world are doing you lot a serious disservice. As in, I’m inclined not to believe most of it at all. But I may well be wrong.
