There’s equality and there’s equality.

I don’t think I have met the husband yet who has the naive effrontery and lack of perception to consider himself his wife’s “equal”. Anyone who thinks that marriage has some default baseline condition as a “patriarchy” is just not paying attention.

The truly realistic question for a man to ask himself in considering marrying any woman is: “what will it be like living in a household she is the head of?”

Because she will be. Don’t even bother kidding yourself about that.
