I never had any of these issues with Friends.

That’s because I found it unendurable from the start.

Even what I managed not to avoid overhearing (for years and years and years of the same whining self-obsessed bullshit…) while someone had it on, made it clear it was never worth the effort.

I consider myself a sort of student of propaganda, and even though I am looking to be entertained too (some of the best entertainment is pure propaganda: witness half a century of Star Trek and “social justice: the final frontier….”), I tend always to be looking for what the production is really trying to tell me.

Friends made that too easy: “yuppies are absolutely loathsome, abominable, two-faced, petty, insufferable hypocrites in just about any way imaginable.”

Boring. Like I didn’t know that already?
