It just continues to astonish and amaze me, that anyone thinks there is any such person as a “Trump supporter.” Donald Trump was the “means to an end” which the OP alludes to in his sole accurate perception of the current situation, but he and apparently every other Trump-hater seems to miss the whole point of the exercise: that this “end” has nothing to do with having Trump as President, but entirely to do with NOT having Hillary as one.

It also continues to amaze me, how much the dialectic of the left has shifted immediately into the tone and style of the Rush Limbaughs and Alex Joneses, with all their obsessive talk about how “to impeach” somehow magically means “to hand power back to our side.” How in the world would essentially appointing Mike Pence as President of the United States, benefit Democrats, or any one of their de rigeur fake causes-of-the-week?
