Not to nit-pick or be too personal, but this is a curious turn of phrase: wouldn’t that be her prerogative, and not her mother’s? If at the very least she did attend a college, not as a person sent to it, but as one who chose to go on her own two feet and handle what she found there in her own way, I’d say maybe your fears need not become reality?
