Oh man. This is so heartbreaking. For what it’s worth, I married a Brit with a silver front tooth that I think is super foxy, even if it looks black in photographs, lol.

One of my closest friends for 20+ years had stained front teeth from fluoridosis or something when she was a kid. She hated smiling in photos and was ashamed.

Then she got big, shiny veneers. Now she smiles the most awful, insincere smile constantly. She posts long, self-indulgent IG stories featuring her face and Cheshire grin. I swear that the teeth changed her. We are no longer close.

Sometimes I miss her bad teeth and her old sincerity and humility. I understand the desire to have good teeth, but the other extreme is bad in its own way.
