Modern russian fighters for sure can have even better subsonic ITR, but are very bad energy savers; at opposites we have eurocanards ; i bet that this mig 21, even if difficult to fly and land( very high speed landing) has less punitive aerodinamics in supersonics enevelope then current draggy trioplane russian designes : indian claims that in supersonic envelope old mirage2000 is much more agile then su30mkII (and less draggy ass well ); this mig 21 looks like a moderate negative stability design, while “modern” russian designs are all positive stability designes.
