R “The Su-35 is a lethal fighter in its own right. As an air-superiority fighter, its major advantages are a combination of high altitude capability and blistering speed, which allows the fighter to impart the maximum possible amount of launch energy to its arsenal of long-range air-to-air missiles.
The aircraft would be launching its weapons from high supersonic speeds around Mach 1.5 at altitudes greater than 45,000 feet”
I am sorry but this post is really a very low quality one:
max su-35 ceiling is 59000 feet, sensible inferior to typhoon and F22,(65000 and 66000) and on par with rafale which is the best of all tree (aerodinamically speaking) below 25000; furthermore su-35 is a very draggy design, with very good subsonic ITR, which is good only for air to ground mission or if you can use just old fashioned wvr missiles, but has not goood subsonic CTR and extremely poor supersonic flight envelope both in ITR and CTR; indisn pilots claim for istance that old mirage2000 are much more agile then su30mkI in supersonic envelope; furthermore al41F grants only 0,19km per litre, while “old” al31f 0,55, so assuming ans su35 pilot would really dare reaching mach1,5 in a real combat scenario, not only flying in a straight line towards home, hoping to escape an eurofighter for example, both aerodinamic manouvrability and fuel consumption would be extremely poor.
Only planes that can aerodinamically sustain high G in supersonic CTR are eurocanards and F22; best of all is typhoon with a CTR at mach 1,6 of 6.4 G;
again launching wepaons at supersonic speeds make sense only for bvr missiles, and those few russian ones (R77and R27) really suck in every aspect, size and weight included.
Read here pls: russian bvr missiles (those few ones) are compared to old sparrow https://manglermuldoon.blogspot.it/2016/11/threat-analysis-su-35s-part-ii-armament.html
Meteor is missile best suited for supersonic launch,beeing a ramject capable of adjust throttle : it receive the most benefit in range, up to 30% if launched at mach1,5.
