Do Women Really Want Equality?

As much as I appreciate a different point of view to look at this issue, I think there are two fundamental flaws in your argument.
- Your article focuses on women who just free-ride on the feminist movement by choosing not to pay their fair share. The movement is about condemning these strict and unreasonable gender roles as you criticize so much. Therefore, you should be rooting for the movement not against it. It’s also a sweeping generalization as you ignore the women who would genuinely want to pay or work full-time or be as active in social life as any men but discouraged because of the strict gender roles that are still largely at play. The number of the women in the latter category is growing thanks to the movement’s efforts to educate people on these issues.
- As far as I know, the movement is about being aware of the subtle and deeply ingrained sexist stereotypes in our society and fixing them. You are on point when you mention that Harry Potter unfairly describes the motherly love as more superior than the father’s. The movement is trying to eradicate these subtle sexism, not to promote them as you seem to claim.
Feminist movement is about freedom of choice, not about giving more rights to women by taking them away from men. If a man wants to be a full-time housekeeper, he should be able to do so without being subject to any prejudice or stigma. If a woman wants to be a corporate executive, she should be able to become one without prejudice, guilt, or more work than required of men.
Everyone has a right to criticize the movement but I suggest studying about the movement before writing about it.
