A very informative article, Senator! As a non-American, I’m amazed that a country, such as the USA, doesn’t have a national health service.

As Senator Dianne Feinstein once said, “I basically believe the medical insurance industry should be non-profit, not profit-making. There is no way a health reform plan will work when it is implemented by an industry that seeks to return money to shareholders instead of using that money to provide health care.” That is the only way it will succeed, Senator, but I guess, it is a bridge too far, given the history of health care in the Land of the Free.

Good luck, Senator. One day, hopefully, FDR and your dream of a universal health care system will be realised.
