Since joining the Big M, I have been drowning in good advice from good writers. And I, truly, thank them. But, I thank you for the lifebuoy that you have thrown in my direction.
My 18 year-old son slaughtered my short story. This was my second story after the two novels I wrote. He advised me to contact his English teacher for remedial lessons. Well, it was my fault — I did ask him to be honest in his critique.
So, reading your article, I felt the same way as I did when Jon Snow came back from the dead. I had been conditioned by Ned’s humiliation and demise because nothing good ever comes out of Westeros.
Now, I feel the joy of the underdog. I am one of the many, not a solitary warrior in the way of an army of great writers on Medium.
So, with my relic of a laptop and my trusty BlackBerry Passport, I will decline my son’s advice and continue writing, as I follow you and as I watch the next season of GoT.
