Tech has indeed become cheaper → more competitors are now trying to build and sell the same service as yours more quickly than ever before. So more noise and confusion in the market.

But I just don’t get the logic behind the “because customers expect SaaS and have a smartphone, it’s now easier to scale” claim…

I certainly do not see many SaaS in that revenue bracket, especially outside the well funded valley, so scaling is NOT easy as insinuated by the title.

I agree that later, more mature channels are more expensive than the early adopter market.
