About the apple and image perception.

When I shoot this image of an apple in the morning light I did not had the perception of how it could look like, because the device I used was an analogue Lomography camera with real photo film on it, so nothing digital.
After some days I got the result from my photolab and I immediately decided that would be one of my favourite images of my whole photography career (I shoot pictures since late 80ies).
I stil do not know what was the “x-factor” of that picture, what was the particular aspect of the image that let me understand that it was really a part of my personal art.
Maybe it was the delicate light that surrounds the fruit, or the film grain that gives a subtle texture to the whole image, or even the part of the apple in shadow that is by the way the only part of this object that defines its precise nature.
That’s the magic of the art.
When something is percieved as a way to send emotional feelings or just empathy with an image, object, sound or any other creation of human beings.
It was interesting to observe the different perception some friends or other viewers of this image had and what was their sensations when they looked at it. As I supposed for many of them the image was not so impactful, some of them were not particular attracted because it was not so “clear” to understand as a description of a fruit. Some other had really enthusiastic comments because they liked a lot the particular view of the apple and they appreciated the fact that their brain had a creative process so to distinguish the object.
At the end, this article is about the different perception of things, the emotional impact they have in different ways on each person and the fact I am always grateful for the gift I had to understand and try to recreate some creative thinking with my everyday work.
Hoper you enjoyed the pic. Love 2 all.
