DAY -3

Though the title of this post may suggest that today is DAY -3, today is actually the evening of Day -2. However, Day -2 was quite boring so in this post I will explain the events of Day -3. The date was Tuesday, August 22nd, 2017. We were in the final day of a three day visit to New Hampshire. I woke up early and me and my dad went down onto the lake. There was a fog slowly rising and drifting across the lake, and it was cool, well below sixty degrees that morning. It was the type of morning that anywhere else in the world would have been considered bad weather, but since we were on a lake in the mountains it was a beautiful day. For this trip I chose the canoe because the cove I was targeting was far enough away that it would suck to row, but close enough that if the wind picked up, a single person could canoe back. When I arived at the cove (the one just past our own, where there is a rock formation near the shore) I chose to use some small shiny lures that i had caught fish on a few times when the water was warm in August. This was not one of those times. As i canoed Back towards my dad, i was informed that he had actually caught a fish, and a smallmouth bass at that. with this in mind I decided to try again later.

It was still fairly early so when I returned i went to sleep for a few more hours. When I woke up again we were doing something but i can’t remember what. I ate lunch and we played pitch, which resulted in an epic collapse by the good guys. Then I decided to go fishing again. I chose the kayak this time because it was a pretty far ride to the far cove and i didnt want to get stuck. I was fishing along the shore, this time along the shore and did not catch anything. To make matters worse this complete dick of a motorboat started doing donuts in the same cove and was disturbing the peace. A few minutes later, the rest of the family came out in the rowboat and said they were going swimming, I told them that I would go but I wanted to fish some more. Eventually I Got to the center of the cove and had my only excitement that day from fishing. As i jigged my lure, something attacked it, Im still not sure what but it only bit the tail end of the lure, so i couldn’t bring it in. In fustration i quit fishing and started the long row over to the sandbar.

When I got to the sandbar I started swimming with my dog. It was so much fun, but like a lot of things nowadays it reminded me of all the things that im going to miss. I have come to the conclusion that I will miss four things more than all of the other things combined. The first thing is my mom because shes just so genuine and its just tough not to miss someone like that. The second is Brittany Post, which is kind of different because it doesn’t seem like theres any way to avoid it but because we are so far away we won’t be able to continue what we had, but i extremely liked what we had. The third thing is my car because ive had some times in there and it feels more like a freind thana car. Finally theres my dog, who i feel for because unlike everything else, shes not going to know why im leaving.

To continue the story of day 3, we had some trouble with the boat motor but it started eventually. Then while we were eating dinner, we heard something running around in the woods. When we looked it was gone but I personally think it sounded like a bear. Since I will soon be a black bear, I took this as a good sign. We then started to clean the house and pack the car. This is allways sentimental because i know it will be another full year before I return to such a paradise as our cabin. As we were driving home I listened to the yankees destroy the evil detroit Tigers by a score of 13–4. Then I decided that this would be a tremendous day to feature in a blog post.
