Castle Bravo was the last detonation that my grandfather worked on with the AEC and Armed Forces Special Weapons Project. I think it scared him, and he was already kind of displeased at the AEC over the Oppenheimer fiasco that had been going on since December 1953.

He never regretted any of his work, though he refused to talk about one thing, whatever it was that they were doing on Catalina Island just before he went to the Manhattan Engineer District.
