If General McMaster is saying something, the Army as a whole would do well to listen. I don’t know the other three that well, so I can’t say much about them.

But in regard to McMaster, He’s probably the smartest flag officer currently serving. If you haven’t, I’d strongly recommend reading his book about Vietnam and the Strategic failure there, because the answers are fairly simple. You need objectives and clear policy to win wars, something I personally don’t see much of in regard to fighting ISIL or in Afghanistan.
