The only thing I disagree with in the article is that a population explosion is any cause for poverty. No matter how few people there are, the barons hoarded wealth. When there were fewer workers, their numbers could not contribute to their well-being. They could not unionize and had few resources between them.

It is when they pool their resources that they become powerful against the greed of their masters. The profits of their combined labor should be going to themselves, not their boss. Co-ops formed by themselves will return the profits of their own labors.
