The concept that “races” are invented post-facto to satisfy some social or economic need, is likely subsequent to a certain humorist’s — or philosopher’s (hard to tell)—suggestion a race is any people who look, sound, walk or smell like that first guy you bumped into years ago during your mad dash to find a bathroom.
