Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, FAIR AS THE MOON, CLEAR AS THE SUN, and TERRIBLE AS AN ARMY WITH BANNERS? - SongofSolomon 6:10

Lightning leaps from its thunder lair
Yet ever is she good and ever fair
Sheltered in Christ's cloven side
She'll laugh at its grandeur and abide
When darkness renders her forlorn
The Father will make it His pavilion
In celestial bliss they'll commune
Whilst humming a seraphic tune
Though the world without fails
And that within to prevail essays
Contention of self, conquest of soul
Still faith and love will shrivel all

Though the world be a Proteus
Amorphous , oft low or prodigious
Unveiled hands or mailed glove
Still 'twill know the victory of love
The world seeks to win and woo
Prized things that belie woe
Though the prospect fair seems
Circumspect from spiritual realms
It may dandle on the laps of fortune
Summer sun and weather warm
Doffing off her righteous robes
Naked walks, a Christian loathes

Flattery wines with besotted draught
Lees unrefined with venom fraught
Still faith despises censure or applause
Love constrains to be true to His cause
Safe though the world smiles or frowns
Comforted in afflictions or downs
Caring little for her praise or depraise
As Christ's banner higher she raise
