I’ll Lie Down Safely

Hosea 2
[18]And in that day will I MAKE A COVENANT FOR THEM WITH the BEASTS OF THE FIELD, and WITH THE FOWLS OF HEAVEN, and WITH THE CREEPING THINGS OF THE GROUND: and I WILL BREAK THE BOW AND THE SWORD AND THE BATTLE out of the earth, and WILL MAKE THEM TO LIE DOWN SAFELY.

Tonight I'm pressed with galling dismay
So I'll kneel down and humbly pray
Not for the cup to pass from me
I'll speak to Him of tenderest sympathy

Rather than sit up and worry
And cry bitterly till I'm drowsy
For scenes of my life gone awry
I'll approach my hope of endless glory

In the darkness of my dreary night
He'll call me into His marvelous light
He well knows my unwieldy plight
But I am still precious in His sight

I'll sleep sound in Jesus name
For only He won't my soul condemn
I've messed a lot during the day
But I'll trust in Him come what may

He'll give me peace with fowls of heaven
And standing among my fellow men
By His grace and blood atoning
My joy will come in the morning

Fear not for I have redeemed thee
Words meant for none but me
I have called thee by thy name
In His hands I'm no longer the same
