You’re Not Meant To Do What You Love. You’re Meant To Do What You’re Good At.

My assumption after reading this article is that she is a full-time writer and assumes that anyone who has the dream of writing a novel or any book plans to quit their job and focus entirely on writing. While there are many writers who earn their living solely from writing, many others do not. The article is a bit condescending and self-serving, though it makes a good point that just loving something isn’t enough. You need the skills, the discipline to hone and improve those skills, and put them to good use, and not everyone who “loves” something has the skills or discipline to turn “love” into a job where you can make a living.
