I actually had a friend recently, in response to something he perceived as being pro-2A (it was actually just me pointing out that if the Left wants a revolution they’d better get strapped or they’re gonna get fucked) that, basically, I should be OK with having my rights stripped away if it meant defeating “right-wing authoritarianism.”

The conversation petered out pretty quickly, but one point I was gonna make if it had kept going was that what the Left is peddling these days is a milder form of authoritarianism, and I’m not really interested in that from them either.

He mentioned specifically the thought of lacking freedom of speech because of being punished for “unpatriotic” things. To which my response would that the Left wants to punish people for “hate” speech even if it clearly is simple dissent on policy matters.

That’s why I voted for Johnson and why there’s a good chance I’ll be voting Libertarian in 2020, if neither side is interested in protecting my rights then why would I support either of them?
