Sure! But my point is that even defensive stances will require a fair bit of money for us. Granted a defensive posture would probably be easily doable with LESS funding than we currently have in the Navy as well.

I’d love to see the US do a serious draw-down on standing ground forces and move to the Swiss model of just training everyone. Go back to the (probably apocryphal) idea of “A rifle behind every blade of grass.”
