Start a bike rental program at airports

I’m in idea guy with an accounting degree. Very dangerous combination.

I come up with ideas all the time. Sometimes it’s about improving a product or service but most the time it’s coming up with a business idea.

My issue is time and people. So here we go I’m just going to give away the ideas that I have no matter how stupid they sound. If you make a zillion dollars from it I’m proud of you just remember me.

Here’s the first one.

Yesterday I flew from SFO at 6:30 in the morning to LAX getting in around eight. I had a meeting in Santa Monica. I decided instead of renting a car I was going to rent a bike. I basically came dressed in my outfit for riding and had my shoes in my backpack.

I wanted to get a decent ride on a decent bicycle. I search the Internet and found about four or five different places that I had to make phone calls to to get the real details. I ended up at Helen’s cycles in Marina Del Rey. That was a seven dollar Lyft ride but not too long.

I rode up the coast into Santa Monica had my meeting road back drop the bike off at around 3 PM. And now back to the airport via left and onto the plane.

Then I thought of it wouldn’t it be nice if there was a company that will deliver a bike to a place very very very very very close to LAX that was quality bikes same price for every bike any rent just one really good road bike and one really good mountain bike exact same ones, sponsored by a manufacturer. Their brand gives you credibility.

Offer shuttle van geared towards bikers. Knowledge and well trained staff excellent customer service and free road repair insurance available unless you’re a VIP, then the first one is free (yours to play with).

Possibly partner up with a rent a car company that can have cars with bike racks, that could use the extra cool and a small piece of your gross.

Website and app that ties in to Strava, etc. , maybe through the manufacture? Perk for them.

I am thinking that the following cities would be great based on my knowledge of those markets.

LAX, San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco, Bend, Portland, Seattle, Denver, Monterrey, SNA-Orange Palm Springs, National, Miami

In Europe (airports and train station)

See the plan? Go for it. If you want to talk to me about it ping me

Changing the narrative in housing. Commissions need to come down, municipalities need to up and mortgages need more common sense underwriting.
