Narcissistic abuse leaves deep scars, not just on your heart but on your mind. When you’ve been in a long-term relationship with a malignant narcissist, the emotional manipulation runs so deep that it can feel like they’ve taken up permanent residence inside your head. Even after the relationship ends, their voice lingers, creating self-doubt, paranoia, and fear. The road back to reclaiming your mind and power is not easy, but it’s one that leads to freedom and self-trust.

Much talk is made of the gaslighting, the manipulation, and the control. Intellectually at least, we can gain a surface level understanding of a narcissistic relationship with the amount of information that can be found by doing a simple internet search.

But it’s the long-term effects: the mental and emotional consequences, especially the way they infiltrate your inner world and hijack your mind, that are most insidious and hardest to shake. These are the hidden aneurysms in your soul from these relationships.

How does it happen though? We are adults with the freedom to CHOOSE who we allow in our lives and what we accept in our lives. We have free will. We have cognitive abilities and are aware of right and wrong. How can a seemingly intelligent, cognizant, creative, and strong-willed…
