Our ‘No AI Content’ Policy

It’s now become extremely easy to write blogs and website articles using artificially generated copy. Basically you save yourself hours by simply asking an AI bot to: “write me an article about design trends” and then posting it on your website.

But for now, us here at Free Figma Templates are making the decision to make our lives much harder and more irritating by adhering to a ‘No AI Content’ policy, and the reason for this? Are we being super altruistic? Are we sticking to the side of humans over robots? Nah we’re doing it for the money. Though currently Free Figma Templates is not for profit.. though that’s mainly because we haven’t made any.

Google has decided to derank (reduce in popularity) all website content that is artificially generated and will probably in the future demonetise AI content too. And the reason for this is because they’re trying to save themselves from losing relevance while also attempting to stop the world wide web becoming just thousands of content farms fighting over search rankings by spewing out millions of random articles a second.

So we’re announcing our No AI content policy today with the idea being less frequently posted human made articles should prove preferable (in Google ranking terms) to websites that post thousands of AI written articles.

Will we be victorious or will competing websites that embrace AI win the Google rankings war? I guess we’ll find out in the next few years. Wish us luck!
