New Chef at Restaurants Near Me
We have a special, yet bittersweet announcement to make regarding our culinary team. If that has you thinking, “I hope this doesn’t affect one of the best restaurants near me ”, don’t panic. Freight is not here to disappoint you. Having said that, we feel obligated to share that our beloved Chef Bobby has departed from Freight to pursue new adventures. It’s sad to see him go after years of his dedication, but we obviously wish him the best. The good news is before his departure, Bobby appointed the talented Trey Davis to take his place.
James “Trey” Davis joined our kitchen staff earlier this year and quickly proved himself as a seasoned chef. Trey has been in the restaurant industry for 14 years, starting at Marietta Billiards working his way up to kitchen manager. He has worked in various other restaurants such as Taco Mac, Hop Alley Brew Pub, and Double Take Café. Like Chef Bobby, Chef Trey takes pride in creating new takes on classic southern fare. Chef Trey is excited to bring his talents to the forefront with Freight. We have great confidence in his abilities and are thrilled to see what he will bring to the table.
In other news, this Monday November 20th is another Freight famous NFL burger battle. This is a special one because our Atlanta Falcons play the Seattle Seahawks. Kickoff is at 8:30 PM and the battling burgers include:
Atlanta Falcons Dirty Bird Burger — fried chicken filet, fried peaches, jalapeno puree, white cheddar, and shredded lettuce. Proudly displayed outside of Freight is our “Falcons Fans Eat Here” sign.
Seattle Seahawks Crab Cake Sandwich — Maryland style crab cake, avocado puree, remoulade, lettuce, and tomato. We don’t support the Seahawks, but Chef Bobby is from Maryland, so you can’t go wrong here.
Pair your sandwich of choice with your local draft of choice for only $4 more. Oh, and of course…RISE UP!
