NFL Dinner Near Me
Burger Battle is Back
Our tradition during football season is Monday Night Burger Battle. The New Orleans Saints play the Minnesota Vikings on Monday September 11th at 7:10 PM. We will feature two different burgers themed after these teams:
Saints Muffuletta — 8 oz. dry aged local beef patty, N’awlins muffuletta, ham, salami, mozzarella, and provolone. Muffuletta is both a type of bread and type of sandwich, originating among Italian immigrants in New Orleans. Salvatore Lupo invented the sandwich in 1906 at his store, Central Grocery Company.
Vikings Juicy Lucy (aka Jucy Lucy) — 8 oz. dry aged local beef patty, white cheddar, yellow cheddar, mayo, and fried pickles. The Juicy Lucy’s patty is stuffed with cheese. Two Minneapolis bars claim to have invented the burger and are to blame for the spelling differentiation. According to the 5–8 Club, “if it’s spelled right, it’s done right” while Matt’s Bar removes the letter i and says, “remember, if it is spelled correctly, you are eating a shameless rip-off!”
But it’s not just game night to look forward to; tomorrow September 9th is another Woodstock summer concert series event, featuring Runaway June. If you like good ole string instruments paired with harmonious female vocals, this band is right up your alley. Runaway June’s sound is commonly compared to that of the Dixie Chicks. The concert has free admission and starts at 7:30 PM at the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Amphitheater. Make it a night to remember. Enjoy dinner at Freight, then jam out to some great music (or vice versa).
