Tell Me More About How Much You Hate Millennials, You Old Fart

Yes. So much yes. Yes, yes, yes, all the fucking way home.

I’m an Xer, myself, and even I had to extricate my head from my rectum at first. But once I looked at the entire situation, I realized everything you have pointed out here, too. It’s really really easy to spot all the salient points if you just do two things that boomers and Xers are bad at: (1) realize that the entire fucking economy, job market, and outlook for America are in the shitter, and (2) realize that boomers and greedier Xers are the biggest contributors to this bullshit situation. This entire country has turned away from lessons of history, from common decency, from common sense. Millenials, thank all the gods in the pantheon, were raised with the internet at their fingertips. Instead of trusting dad’s opinion on everything, which is based on both his dad’s opinion and the twisting, revisionist history pushed by the neoconservative movement, you millenials realized early on that you don’t have to take anyone’s word for it, it’s very simple to look up the actual facts yourself and make your own opinions on everything. I had to re-adjust my own brainpan by doing research, and I came to these conclusions a while back. It wasn’t hard to find the info that can break through decades of conditioning, either…it’s just impossible to comprehend looking up census data or the year’s budget for the government even fifteen years ago. Now, it’s just there. If you don’t want to bother looking it up, wait a day or two, and someone will post it with an excellent argument as to why boomers/dumbXers are the fucking devil…and they’ll be right.

I’m sorry we fucked the economy up. I’m sorry we shipped all the manufacturing and development jobs overseas because the increasingly cheaper shit at Walmart became so attractive. In our defense, it was a very quick fall from “Made in China” stickered items being the things we would sneer and laugh at, to them being the only things on shelves in nearly every store we can name. But still, it was certainly not your generation’s fault…yet we tell you how stupid and lazy and entitled you all are, for not doing the same things we did, years ago, in a completely different world.

We raised you all to believe you could do anything you wanted. Everyone I know told their kids they could be whatever they wanted to be when they grew up, and now that you have each made your choice, we tell you how stupid you were to have made that choice. “Duh, there are no jobs in that field,” we tell you, as if it should have been obvious to anyone with a brain that this choice would never work. We completely ignore the fact, when we tell you this that there are no jobs in any field, which really should have clued us in to the problem a while back. I’m sorry we’re so fucking blind. I really am, and not just for your sakes. This nation should be the beacon on the hill, the exceptional country that most of those older asshats believe it is, or at least it used to be. Instead, most other developed nations are using us as a cautionary tale.

The worst part is that I don’t even speak for most of my generation, and boomers are far too fucking smart for me to speak on their behalf (lol). Most of my contemporaries still haven’t recognized this yet, and I don’t know how long it will take to wake them up. This is why Clinton has such a headstart in the current election cycle, and also why Trump is looming. People my age and older seem to not understand that the system is so fucked up that it needs to be broken down and rebuilt according to the blueprints. Most younger people support Bernie because for them, it’s obvious. I just hope we can elect him over the protests of the feeble-minded on both sides of the fence. Because then, just maybe we will have a shot at fixing this nation enough so that you and all your peers can find good jobs that fulfill you and enrich your experiences..and allow you to move out of your parent’s homes into ones of your own.
