What is life…

but constant change and constant learning.

I used to lament the transient nature of all things good. Movies that ended when I was enjoying the moment would drive me mad. I’d look at things like the sunset and wish for it to be frozen in time. And the more I think about it, I had a very “Holden Caulfield” approach to youth, thinking that with enough forethought and care we could ensure that innocence would last. I just wanted to hold on.

Now I’m starting to see that beauty is partially derived from impermanence. And that movement is essential to life. And to comprehend and appreciate the transient state of things while balancing it with the responsibility we have to create positive changes is necessary for a good life. Be steadfast in the dream, patient with all that comes in between. #nightthoughts
