I think while a lot of people did make the false assumption that there was no coverage of the Beirut bombing, their anger was misplaced.
I think they were really angry about the coverage of people all over the world standing in solidarity with Paris and not Beirut. Like the Facebook filter or the buildings lit up all over the world.
It wasn’t necessarily the news media, but mass social media in general that had disproportionate coverage.
