Today, we are delighted to introduce WorkFridge and the story of how it came into being.

I have been a serial entrepreneur for over 2 decades, having built 3 businesses — Entask Consultancy (ECS), mPowersolar and Esencia Technologies.

Having seen how technology has traversed into various walks of not only our life, but also businesses to boost the human potential to get tasks done in an efficient way. Office supplies is an important part of day-to-day operations at workplace. There have been times when suddenly paper required for print-outs got over and because of that the work stretched for longer than required.

Workfridge is a result of all the pain points experienced while running day-to-day operations at Entask .

As a design house for building infrastructures, Entask is a big guzzler of paper and accessories.

Office consumables supply chain is still unorganised and fragmented.

The team used to spend a lot of time in the procurement process and often used to get into stressful situations due to shortage. In turn, the delivery efficiency was getting compromised which is harmful for any business.

Ever since, I started looking for solutions that can put the office supplies management on autopilot , so that day-to-day operations of the workplace does not get compromised.

In my search for a viable solution, the idea for WorkFridge was born.

Based on my experiences of running different businesses, I realized that every business unit (BU) has office consumables; materials and the patterns could be different though depending on the segments, the procurement and management processes are mostly the same.

The process of managing multiple vendors, follow-ups and managing the same, takes a lot of effort and time.

In today’s technology driven world, offices are still plagued with inefficiencies in assessment and order management, accountability of usage and over or under stocking situations.

As per the IMRB survey, delayed delivery, vendor follow-ups and managing multiple vendors are the key challenges faced in managing the office supplies.

Often the the problem is perceived as not having ‘A Single supplier for all’.

The fact is having a single supplier could only solve the quarter of this problem. The others would negate and double fold in terms of effect. Though the procurement as a process gets reduced to one vendor, other issues and pain points including consumption efficiencies are still at large. In fact having put everything in basket, the issues tend to increase. Also as the supply chain gets extended, the prices tend to go expensive.
