The Secret of Playa Guiones S.1 E.4

--

Tyler Travis: “After our sensitive electronic equipment was fried by an anomalous pulse of electromagnetic energy, we took our cameras to the beach to interview local people in a search for clues about this mysterious energy vortex. Those interviews just deepened the mystery. So we decided to consult with some local experts who have some non-traditional ways of looking at reality. We have brought in Clair, an astrologist, Laura, who works with the body’s auras and energy fields, Pozo, who is a water witch, and Jeremiah, who works with Ouija boards. Thank you all for joining us. Frankly, we’re a little stumped about what’s going on here. Perhaps you all can provide some insights. Clair, according to your poster at Organico you use intuition when you’re charting the planetary movements.”

Clair: “Yes, I was gifted as a child with strong psychic abilities. My use of geomancy tells me that the planetary alignment here transits a ley line that is also in conjunction with several of the sacred energy spots on the globe, including Machu Picchu and the Great Pyramids of Egypt. The energies are magnified by the pink crystals that are concentrated at the point between Playa Guiones and Garza.”

Radar: “What the Hell are ley lines?”

Clair “Ley lines criss-cross the globe and are sources of great spiritual energy. Like I said, a very strong one passes through Playa Guiones. May I ask what your birth date is?”

Radar: “I was born on September 14, 1964, in Kansas City Missouri.

Clair: “Oh, that explains a lot. I can see why you are so skeptical. You arrived here during some interesting transits. The one you should be most concerned about is Mars in retrograde. That is not a good time to be using electronic instruments.”

Tyler: “We found that out! What else is going on that we need to know about?”

Clair: “I can tell you that there are very mysterious forces at work here. The force is strong.”

Radar: “Okay, thanks, Clair. Laura, what can you tell us today? How do you read auras?”

Laura: “Well, I’ve lived here for a long time. Once I got caught in a rip current back before there were any lifeguards on the beach. I was drowned for sure and I felt my spirit leave my body. I found myself in a beautiful garden — I can’t describe how beautiful it was — and I didn’t want to go back into my body. But I was told I still had work to do. Eventually a surfer brought me back to shore and I was revived. After I came back I found I have a natural gift that allows me to visualize the energy fields that everyone has.”

Radar: “Does this gift tell you if there’s anything special here, anything that makes Nosara different from other places on the planet?”

Laura: “Yes, the energy fields are very intense here, which creates strong auras. We have quite a mix of colors. We have a lot of green men and blue women, and when they get together they create a mellow teal vibe and are chill to be with. But more and more I find people here with a red glow, and they are typically intense and disruptive, sometimes just cranky.”

Jimmy: “So do these colors mix together? Are there any purple people? What about yellow?”

Laura: “You will find that the different color groups don’t mix well together and we tend to have a lot of cliques based on the color of our different auras. The different vibes are not necessarily harmonious.”

Jimmy: “That might explain politics but I’m not sure what it tells us about a vortex.”

Tyler: “Pozo, let’s take your dowsing stick out to the beach. We’ve identified a transient, high gradient magnetic field in certain areas. Let’s see if you can pick up anything with your stick.”

On the beach

Pozo paced along the south end of Playa Guiones striated with volcanic rock formations. His rod jumped suddenly and he began moving erratically with his stick like he had an invisible dance partner.

Tyler: “What’s happening, Pozo?”

Pozo: “Wow, something’s really going on here. I haven’t moved so much since 5 Rhythms.”

Back at Base Camp

Radar: “I haven’t seen anyone dance like that since my last Grateful Dead concert. If Pozo’s stick is to believed, something very strange is taking place under the beach. This is all very unscientific, I just want you to know. But we seem to be on a roll, so why don’t we see what the Ouija Board has to say about it all.”

Jeremiah placed the board on a folding table. “Tyler, if we hold the planchette together, the spirits will move it and reveal a message.”

Tyler: “The spirits? What kind of spirits are we talking about here?”

Jeremiah: “I will ask the spirit to identify himself. I guess I should say themself, because we don’t know what sex the spirit will identify with.”

Tyler, with doubtful look on his face: “Okay, I’m from Florida and I’m not sure I’m comfortable with a gay spirit, but I’ll give it a go.”

Jeremiah: “My name is Jeremiah. Is there a spirit present with us today?

The planchette moved to ‘yes’

Jeremiah: “Do you have a name?”

The planchette moved to the letters TITZI

Tyler lifted his hand from the planchette as if startled. “Where are you from, Titzi?”

With Jeremiah keeping a light touch, the planchette continued to move steadily back and forth across the board.

Later at Base Camp

Jenny, writing on a whiteboard, with others seated at a table. “So the message from the Ouija board comes from a spirit who calls him or herself Titzi, who comes from the planet Sunaru, through a portal of some sort. Titzi says their planet is dying and they come here for our DNA.”

Tyler: “Wow, this place just gets crazier and crazier. Let’s review what we learned today, and see if we can make any sense out of it. Radar, what do you think?”

Jenny: “Let’s see, there’s some sort of geographical or perhaps geological thing going on here that creates a ley line that lets aliens from a dying planet mix with the locals for purposes that sound a little scary to me. But of course we have no real evidence that would convince a middle school science teacher that we’re not just nuts, let alone rewrite the laws of physics or get us a Nobel Prize.”

Tyler: “That sounds about right. Good summary, Jenny.”

Radar: “Well, Clair is sure right about one thing. I’m skeptical. I don’t know what to make out of this. Once we get some equipment set up, we’ll be able to get a good map of what’s underneath the sand here. We’ll also be able to take a look at the sky to see if there’s anything unusual above us.”

Tyler: “I’ve just been informed that our equipment has cleared customs. Apparently all it took was knowing the right person, that’s all I can say publicly.”
