Extra Credit Activity — PASINAYA 2016

This Last Sunday, I was one of the volunteers in the Pasinaya Festival 2016. It was a honored for me to be part of the volunteers because I have learned so many things during the event. The performers were very talented.

At first, the organizer assigned me to the registration area. I noticed that there are a lot of people who are interested to watch the shows there. Most of them are students from different schools who was required by their teacher to attend the event. Others are elders who wants to see performances such as folk dance, orchestra, etc. (to throwback their old memories lol) .Aside from that, I was amazed to the parents who brought their children just to teach and show the Filipino culture.

I was also assigned to the box office where you can buy tickets of other events in CCP. After that, they transfered me to merchandising at the Eskinita (L. Locsin) where I need to sell the Pasinaya’s official shirt. While doing my task, I also watch the performance of the different schools including our team, Coro San Benildo. All the performance are heartwarming to ears especially the choral groups. The folk dances were too good. All in all, I love what I have watched.

When we finished to sell the shirts, we were free to tour ourselves and enjoy the festival so at first, we went to the art exhibit in the third floor. You’ll see a lot of restored things in that room. Also, they created a statue-like persons that was dressed like the spanish era. Some of it was also wearing the traditional clothes. They have different poses and arrangement that was according to what they’re symbolizes.

Finally, we went watched the orchestra’s performance. It was very calm and relaxing to hear their music. The songs are very good.

All in all, I enjoyed the event and I am sure that I will attend the next year Pasinaya Festival. I am so proud to be a pure Filipina.
