Where do I begin from, to tell a story of our fondness for sweet dishes? When I think of it, it fills my heart with many things. I remember my mom and now me quickly rustling up to make sweets during festivals or on the sudden arrival of guests.

I’m sure you as a reader must also be having few cherished memories of secretly stealing the ladoos from the jar or barfi being pushed into your mouth by your grandmother.

From hot Gajar ka halwa and moong dal ka halwa across winters to milk recipes like kheer, basundi and shrikhand, every season brings its flavors to the table.

Today, in this blog, we will be discussing a very familiar sweet dish “Basundi,” which you can make at home very quickly. This unique recipe is high on calories and proteins and is, of course, unresistible.

Let’s take a look at the ingredients below

How to make

Take 1-liter of full cream milk into a saucepan and turn on the flame.

(you can take buffalo milk)

Note* Take a wide saucepan the milk can boil easily and fast

Now bring the milk to the boil

Once the milk is boiled, slow down the flame and let it boil on low flame

Note* We have to reduce the quantity from 1 liter to half liter

Keep stirring the milk often so that it does not get burnt from the bottom

Since we have taken full cream milk, scrape the cream from the sides of the pan and mix it again in the milk

The entire process should take around 25–30 minutes.

Once the milk starts to get slightly thicker, add 200gms of milkmaid,

(Do not add the milkmaid all together, add little, then taste it, if required add more)

Let it boil for another 10–15 minutes and turn off the gas

Add 1tea spoon of Cardamom powder and stir it well

Now let the mixture cool down completely

Once the mixture is cool down keep it the fridge

Add the Custard apple pulp 15 minutes before serving

(Do not add the custard apple pulp before as there are chances that milk might get torn and ruin your recipe)
