The use of sexually exploited women to sell beer works in Rinconada, Puno, as it operates at Km. 108 of the Interoceanic Highway, in Madre de Dios. Towards the end of September of this year (2018), Frontera Pirata received a complaint: just as it happens in La Pampa, Backus has a middleman that provides beer to dozens of underground brothels that crowd this other mining town. Over 5000 meters above sea level, Backus middleman and wholesalers compete for the distribution of beer. While Backus & Johnson sets for auction sales territories such as La Pampa or Rinconada, Rinconada´s mayor, Alberto Ayamamani, claims that he hasn’t received any support to fight against trafficking from the corporation.
