The Caltech Racing Team is proud to announce the addition of Altium Limited as a sponsor for the 2015–2016 year, ultimately leading to the Formula SAE Electric competition.

The team will use Altium Designer, the leading electrical CAD tool in the industry, to design all of the vehicle’s electric and electronic systems. The use of this platform will allow our student-engineers to more easily, precisely, and quickly iterate on our designs and reach our goals, ensuring that fast-paced deadlines and performance requirements can be met. Through our partnership with Altium Limited, the club’s students will be exposed to state-of-the-art software tools that will greatly contribute to their education, preparing them for their careers in engineering.

Altium Limited is a multinational software corporation headquartered in San Diego, California, that focuses on electronics design systems for 3D PCB design and embedded system development. Altium products are found everywhere from world leading electronic design teams to the grassroots electronic design community. With a unique range of technologies Altium helps organisations and design communities to innovate, collaborate and create connected products while remaining on-time and on-budget. Products provided are Altium Designer®, Altium Vault®, CircuitStudio®, PCBWorks®, CircuitMaker® and the TASKING® range of embedded software compilers.

The Caltech Racing Team, part of the Caltech Sustainable Vehicle Club, is a group of dedicated students aiming to push the limits of our engineering skills while promoting the next generation of vehicles worldwide. The team counts over 70 students from a variety of disciplines that are currently collaborating to build a high-performance electric vehicle for the 2016 Formula SAE Electric competition.
