Indian Football is growing and how!
As India pops the champagne corks to celebrate the success of the Indian Women’s Cricket team, Indian sporting enthusiasts across the world are ecstatic for more than just reasons concerning bats and balls. The achievements of India’s ladies — as terrific as they are — do not stand out in isolation but instead serve as one of many achievements synonymous with a sporting wave sweeping the country.
As Indian cricket continues to make headlines on the forefront, an impending renaissance of the world’s most popular sport has finally found its feet. It was almost inevitable, some would say. The beautiful game aka football has captivated the imagination of the millennial generation like never before. Kids are increasingly replacing cricket bats and wickets with football boots and goal posts. Indian streets now bear witness to keepie-uppie challenges and five-a-side games. Indian football clubs are playing to exponentially growing crowds. The tide has well and truly shifted.

The sporting culture required to nurture talent to represent the country has been simmering for a while now, and if updates from across the country are to be believed, Bengaluru is a key city, among many other locations where football is now setting the precedent for India’s sporting future.
We, at FSV Arena, are knee deep in the fun. As hosts of two popular football tournaments in the city namely The Amateur League and the Youth Champions League, we have seen the demand grow for coaching and competitions alike. The Youth Champions League, in particular, has been an eye-opening experience. Being a witness to incredible talents and passionate youth has fuelled our belief that the Indian National Team will be a force to reckon with in the near future.

Our native academy has seen enrollments steadily increase with parents also taking an active interest in their kids’ development. Across different age groups, a healthy mix of coaching and competitive games has bred an emerging generation of hungry talents eager to make a mark on the national and international stage.

The growing popularity of Bengaluru FC, the I-League, and the Indian Super League has ensured that football is now gaining mass appeal; possibly the final step in the quest for higher FIFA rankings and a utopian FIFA World Cup trophy .
Too far-fetched, perhaps? It could come sooner than you might think.
