To New Beginnings and New Paths to Learning

“Become a student of change. It is the only thing that will remain constant.” — Anthony D’Angelo

Change is in our DNA and as someone who has been working in the technology , i have seen a lot of change. Sometimes change can inspire, sometimes it can frustrate and most certainly change can open up new avenues of learning.

I’ve been working on Oracle Technologies since 1996 and have loved every bit of that journey. From working at various Companies around the world learning and evolving, to working at Oracle. Oracle provided me for the last 5 years the creative ability to help customers , while learning new technologies and enjoying every bit of the journey. From learning Oracle Database to Oracle Engineered Systems and help redefine the Oracle Database Backup Category with Recovery Appliance (ZDLRA) it has been a sheer joy to wake up everyday and work with customers helping solve real problems.

I’d be remiss to stay that the community in large has been a big factor in my learning curve , IOUG which gave me my first opportunity to speak in public, ODTUG and various User groups including Chicago Oracle Users Group (COUG) , The Twitter and the blogger community that encouraged me to speak up and converted me from the shy DBA introvert that i was to feel part of a bigger community.

As i take a big step in my career , i have to thank everyone that made my Learning Journey a reality and i start at my new role at Redhat, expect to see me more engaged and working towards giving back to the community and help people like the people that helped me.

Community brought a positive effect in my life and i hope i can make it my goal to give back and contribute more thru various channels.
